About Me
Prof. Dr. Berrin Pehlivan is a graduate of Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. Motivated by the frequent occurrence of cancer cases in her family and surroundings, Pehlivan turned to the field of Oncology and made observations in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Boston University during her internship. After completing her specialization in Radiation Oncology at Hacettepe University, she spent a long time abroad.
Constantly renewing herself by researching global technologies in the fight against cancer, Pehlivan participated in many scientific studies in France and Switzerland between 2004 and 2009. She continued her work in the European Cancerology Program in France, the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Lausanne, the Proton Therapy Center at the Paul Scherrer Institute in Villigen, Switzerland, and the Proton Therapy Center in Orsay, France, before returning to Turkey to share her experiences first-hand with her own people.
Following her work at Başkent University and Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine, she established the Radiation Oncology Department at Medstar Antalya Hospital, part of the Memorial Healthcare Group.
Pehlivan has authored numerous articles, scientific publications, and projects both nationally and internationally. She continued her work until the end of 2018 at Medical Park Bahçelievler Hospital, Medical Park Göztepe Hospital, and Altınbaş University. She is the author of the book ’50 Questions About Cancer’ and writes under the Science Column in the Cadde supplement of Milliyet Newspaper.
Prof. Dr. Berrin Pehlivan currently serves as a faculty member in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Bahçeşehir University, where she trains future scientists. She also continues her work as a consultant physician at the MedAustron Particle Therapy Center in Vienna, Austria, and at BP Clinic, which she founded.
